How will you make an impact?

As a Sales Development Representative, you will support the growth of the Varian Interventional Solutions (VIS) business by driving market share through lead generation, qualification and customer engagement.

What you will do:

You will play an integral part in supporting the sales organization to promote and sell Varian's VIS innovative products, solutions and service to customers in the interventional radiology market. This entry-level position in sales prepares employees for accelerated learning, fine-tuning the individual's strengths in business, communications, and consultative selling.

There will be hands on training, mentoring with industry leading professionals through joint customer development and field experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with assigned Territory Manager(s) to build and manage relationships with current customers and identify new customers to develop for the purpose of selling VIS products
  • Developing expertise in all VIS product lines within a specified geography including, but not limited to consumables, capital equipment, service agreements, additional system sales, and equipment upgrades
  • Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy, and find opportunities for growing customer and business value through product positioning and differentiation
  • With guidance from assigned Territory Manager(s), analyze the territory for sales potential; maintain appropriate level of territory coverage; plan and execute effective sales calls; schedule and perform product demonstrations; manage the sales order/quotation process; achieves superior level of overall customer satisfaction; provides regular customer and market feedback to company
  • Attending live cases in customer accounts serving as a technical consultant and providing education focused on creating competence to gain clinical support and confidence of physicians and clinical staff
  • Transporting capital equipment to the customer site when necessary. Must be capable of lifting 100 lbs. into and out of a vehicle
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of any complaints or technical issues, following documented procedures
  • Representing Varian ethics, values, and business practices with all internal and external constituents

Salary range posted does not include 50% variable compensation.

Required Location:Inland Empire

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Organizational acumen/skills, time and territory management, responsiveness and reliability, verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, selling skills
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM. Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 1-2 years of B2B sales experience
  • Healthcare B2B experience is preferred

Required Certifications and Training:

  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to:Proof of valid identification (photo, driver's license, SSN), Criminal background checks, Drug screens, Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus), Annual TB testing,Healthcare trainings

Travel: The ability to travel (by car or air, day trips, and overnight stays) more than 50% of the time is required.
