How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The position:
The R&D Technician in the Product Development or Research & Development Group of ALAM is part of a larger team focused on developing new and enabling products for ALAM. He/she will play an essential role in ensuring the lab is running safely and smoothly, conduct routine synthesis and purification following established procedures, and support chemists to synthesize, purify, analyze and package the emerging products for customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Maintain a safe R&D lab environment by taking on active safety roles in the R&D lab
* Complete SVC production orders to meet on-time delivery metrics
* Routine operation of analytical instruments such as GC, GC-MS, TGA and XRD
* Conduct various processes such as stability testing, routine purification and chemical
reactions following well-established procedures
* Work closely with chemists to produce mid- to large scale samples for customers
* Follow the guidelines and best practices related to lab notebooks, data storage and backup
* Help the lab organization by taking on active roles in maintaining various inventories and organizing the lab contents

Required Qualifications:
* HS degree or BS degree in Chemistry
* Experience with the handling of air and moisture sensitive molecules, and hazardous and pyrophoric chemicals
* Good communication skills
* A team player that puts safety first
* Motivated to gradually take on additional responsibilities and to continue education

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with scaling up synthesis to KG scale and above is a major plus
* Good mechanical skills with experience building and assembling manifolds, reactor systems, and distillation set-up
