Job Description

Ecolab's Industrial sector is seeking a business focused Lead Data Scientist to unlock the value in data assets while maintaining and creating unique offerings for customers in the Industrial segment. In this role, you will collaborate with the business innovation teams, marketing, sales and engineering counterparts to help develop & deliver the advanced analytics pipeline for the business.In addition, you will own the execution of revenue generating analytics product developments and enhancements required for scaled solution success.

This position is based out of our Naperville, IL office and will follow a hybrid schedule.

What you will do

  • Identify and define opportunities aligned to Industrial business challenges, navigating a wide range of problems and solution approaches.
  • Drive experimentation and delivery of digital data science product innovations.
  • Mentor junior data scientists in the organization, fostering their development with hands-on engagement.
  • Work within an agile global resource model, planning for delivering against strategically aligned initiatives.
  • Utilize an extensive foundation of data science principles, methods, theories, and concepts to bring creativity to the development of new, innovative solutions.
  • Network and collaborate with a broad range of internal business stakeholders to define and deliver joint solutions.
  • Leverage cutting edge technology to creatively solve problems and disrupt existing business models.
  • Provide clear, consistent communication and presentation to various product stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Economics, Math, Statistics or related field with an emphasis on analytics and 8 years of experience in progressive data science role or Master's degree with 6 years of experience in progressive data science role
  • Experience and proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, effectively partnering and delivering results to a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • Experience leading teams with cross-functional influence
  • Experience with full lifecycle of data science product development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, embracing change and challenging the status quo
  • Excellent organizational transformation, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in Data Science, Business Analytics and Engineering
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Azure Suite, including PowerBI and Databricks
  • Working knowledge of git, Snowflake, and distributed compute platforms
  • Proficiency with time series and sensor data
  • Experience with scalable digital product development across the full lifecycle
  • Proven reasoning in balancing practical business needs and analytics rigor
