Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Staff Security Engineer to join our VMware by Broadcom Telco Cloud Platform team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of security of VMware's Telco Cloud offerings, including our network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and Telco 5G security. The Staff Security Engineer will work closely with other teams to ensure the security of our systems and networks, and will be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies.

Service Defined Edge (SDE) business unit enables the worldwide ecosystem of Communications Service Providers (CSP) to transform their networks into flexible, agile, and programmable environments through Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and SDN.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security of VMware's Telco Cloud offerings, including platform security, network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and Telco 5G security.

* Collaborate with other teams to ensure the security of our systems and networks.

* Build the software architecture to qualify for security assessments and penetration testing to mitigate vulnerabilities and improve security posture.

* Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards.

* Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies, including those related to Telco 5G and Kubernetes.

* Lead and mentor junior security engineers and other team members.

* Collaborate with other teams to ensure the security of our Telco 5G infrastructure and applications.

* Design and implement secure Kubernetes deployments and services.

* Collaborate with other teams to ensure the security of our Kubernetes clusters and applications.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field.

* At least 12 years of experience of security architecture/ security engineering team.

* In-depth knowledge of security protocols, technologies, and industry standards.

* Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and threat analysis.

* Experience in implementing various compliance in products, like FIPS, NIIST etc

* Familiarity with cloud security and virtualization security.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

* Experience with containerization and cloud-native security.

* Strong practical experience securing Kubernetes and containerization workloads.

* Hands on and deep knowledge of security principles.

* Experience with Telco 5G security and Kubernetes security.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $210,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
