Scope:

The Process Engineer performs basic degree of complexity engineering assignments under direction and supervision. The qualified individual applies basic engineering principles to perform routine design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations. The Process Engineer also conducts analyses or tests of routine degree of complexity. He/She prepares plans, process specifications, production aids, assembly fixtures, MRP support studies, factory cost work standards, and assignments where supervision provides guidance on methods of approach and procedures to be followed as well as as effectively communicating exact requirements to production.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carries out cost-effective design, installation, method of transfer, monitoring, and modification of manufacturing processes; identifies problems in process of materials; suggests alternative approaches to the manufacturing process
  • Establishes and maintains systems for determining whether a product, as designed, can be manufactured
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers, suppliers, and/or equipment vendors to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Has input to project plans for implementation of new processes, existing process modification, capacity improvements, and throughput enhancements
  • Performs costs/benefit analysis on existing manufacturing processes and improvement opportunities
  • Uses root cause and corrective action methods in combination with statistical analysis to resolve issues
  • Effectively prepare communications via PowerPoint or another medium to delineate issues and/or projects to customers, vendors, and internal personnel
  • Performs manufacturing capacity/throughput analysis on individual and area manufacturing operations
  • Performs process capability analysis on manufacturing processes, provides operations, and provides operations with Cpk indices
  • Utilizes experience and engineering methods to provide quick fixes and/or containment methods for defects until issues are permanently resolved
  • Utilizes Six Sigma and other similar methodologies to drive continuous improvement
  • Identifies yield improvement opportunities and has input to the development of action plans to improve yields
  • Performs defect characterization analysis to construct root cause effect relationships for defect reduction leading to yield enhancements
  • Provides critical processes/parameters data for FMEA manufacturing tables
  • Participates in project implementation and defect reduction teams
  • Performs other similar duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Able to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the company
  • Knowledgeable on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling and training
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
  • Evaluating test and production data, problem solving skills
    • Creating engineering communications based on findings
    • Analyzing micro-sections and identifying different types of defects
    • Preferred: Advanced MS Excel capabilities for data visualization and data analysis
  • PCB production knowledge, and of innovative advances in PCB production
  • Methods of statistical and qualitative analysis, including RMS and RSS, fish bone and fault tree
  • Analysis of destructive analysis reports (SEM, EDX, etc.)
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience required
Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$63,370 - $105,617

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition ofForeign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
