About this opportunity
Ericsson is shaping the future of mobile communication and cloud computing. Our R&D program consists of teams in several sites worldwide, including our Ericsson Research team in Santa Clara in Silicon Valley. Our team's current focus is on 5G evolution and 6G, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), media, security, internet of things (IoT), non-terrestrial networks, and spectrum sharing. We are very engaged in various standard bodies, including performing technical studies, developing contributions and attending standards meetings. Our team has an outstanding record in patents, standards contributions, publications and technology transfer to our development units.
Externally, we are engaged in interactions with universities and government agencies. We also scan for new technology trends coming out of Silicon Valley and elsewhere. Our projects span multiple sites and countries, and we emphasize a highly collaborative culture.
What you will do
* End-to-end streaming as well as rendering and perception optimization for XR
* Sensing and beam and mobility management for XR
* AI for physical layer, mobility management, and energy efficiency improvements
* Cell planning and shaping using digital twin and machine learning
* UAV network design and optimization
* Semantic communication
* Distributed and explainable AI
* Zero-energy IoT
* Physical-level security
You will bring
We are looking for a graduate student intern for research studies on 5G-Advanced, 6G, media, XR, AI/ML, sensing and communication, security and IoT. The tasks involve solution development, simulation and evaluation, result analysis, a final report, and potentially conference or journal publication.
Our ideal candidate is skilled in one or more of the area of media research, AI/ML, sensing, XR, wireless communication, radio, MIMO, networking, security, and IoT.

The compensation range for this position is listed below. The actual compensation offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, a combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
California: $53- $55 per hour
