About Salesforce

We're Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too - driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good - you've come to the right place.

The Salesforce Website Platforms organization is looking for a self-starting, organized, and experienced Senior Design Program Manager (DPM) for our UX team. This team designs the digital experience for our prospects and customers who use our websites to grow their careers, explore new capabilities, participate in industry-leading events, and give-back to the community.

Responsibilities

This role requires someone who is a relationship builder and an operational problem solver, is fluent in the best practices of user experience and design delivery, and who wants to empower the Websites UX team to partner with our stakeholder, product, and engineering teams in a sustainable and healthy way.

You will operationalize how the UX team works with our product and engineering partners, creating rituals and cadences that foster team connection, a shared purpose, and a collaborative design community. You'll create new processes and frameworks that help us define, prioritize, and review work. You will connect the dots between our product teams' roadmaps and UX's priorities and deliverables, helping both groups handle design dependencies and deliver optimally. You will collaborate closely with the user research team to integrate insights into the design process, helping to facilitate regular communication and alignment between the design and research teams to ensure a user-centered approach. You'll collaborate closely with design leadership and build positive relationships with cross-functional partners. You will help oversee and nurture partnerships with external vendors and agencies involved in design projects, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.

You will be the point-of-contact for a complex network of business units and functions, and own regular communications up, down, and out to ensure alignment and clarity of goals. Lastly, you'll facilitate alignment across UX's leadership team, coordinating strategy and measurement reviews, leading team events, and coordinating presentation material for partner audiences.

Requirements
  • Outstanding partnership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. The ability to collaborate well in a cross-functional, matrixed management environment, and work across multiple departments and business units.

  • Experience partnering directly with product management and engineering teams, with an understanding of their priorities, constraints, and how UX informs their work streams.

  • Thorough familiarity with how design gets done. Understand what happens when and why, what natural dependencies exist, how to mitigate risks, and when it's OK to be visionary (and when it's not).

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods and their application in informing design decisions. Ability to work closely with user researchers to leverage insights and validate design concepts.

  • Superb communication skills that shine in-person and across multiple mediums. The talent to tell a story, advocate for a project or program, and facilitate understanding to different audiences at whichever level is appropriate.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with external partners to achieve project goals.

  • Strong understanding of what it takes to ship products at scale. Experience running projects using agile and/or scrum processes, and understand development team make-ups (i.e., roles, responsibilities, and how they interact).

  • Ability to learn and master internal project management tools to ensure design work is properly represented and tracked, and contribute new tools and processes to make work more visible to the entire organization.

Desired Experience and Skills
  • At least 5 years experience working in enterprise software in any combination of Design, DesignOps, or PgM roles.

  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives, and technical and non-technical team members.

  • An internal compass that points towards ethics and equality, and the conviction to speak up if we stray off-course.

  • Previous experience collaborating closely with user research teams to integrate qualitative and quantitative insights into the design process.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence peers and managers, and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.

  • Experience running events and programs for internal teams, external customers, or both at the same time!

  • Experience thinking in systems.

  • Experience with large websites or system ecosystems.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or PMP certification.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines. Demonstrated resilience in overcoming challenges and setbacks, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.

  • A desire to be your authentic self in the workplace.
