Lifesharing is seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to fill a critically important position in the Transplant Community. The position of procurement coordinator is an exciting, unique, and pivotal role in the world of health care, offering the qualified individual a challenging work life with a primary focus on saving and extending lives. Procurement coordinators are self-starters who work independently within all of the hospitals of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Qualified individuals blend high levels of clinical and people skills while working with donor families, critical care staff, and multiple surgical transplant teams to effectively recover organs for transplant.

Procurement Coordinators provide on-site evaluation of potential organ and tissue donors, help guide families through the decision to donate the organs of their recently deceased loved ones, manage the clinical care of the donor to assure the viability of the organs, locate recipients for each transplantable organ, and assist in the recovery of the organs. Procurement coordinators liaison with area hospital personnel, ICU staff, and physicians to develop relationships and provide educational programs to facilitate the organ donation process.
