Salary Range: $47,000 - $52,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Provide professional skills and knowledge in providing information technology support within a department or division. Responsible for providing systems administration, and user support and training.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
  2. Train faculty, staff, and students in the use of technology hardware and software.
  3. Configure and maintain college workstations, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  4. Coordinate technical issues with application vendors.
  5. Set up departmental workstations, laptops, iPads, and other devices, troubleshoot problems and perform installation of software and applications.
  6. Develop recommendations by evaluating use case requirements to provide technical solutions to technical needs.
  7. Create and maintain procedural documents for technical/computer processes.
  8. Support lab, computer classroom, and conference room technologies.
  9. Maintain inventory of software licenses managed by Academic Computing within the College; estimate and track annual cost and maintenance.
  10. Work collaboratively with teammates to solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  11. Act as liaison between the department and University Technology Solutions, to include counterparts in central IT and other decentralized units.
  12. Perform other duties defined by the department and college leadership in support of projects and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Ninety (90) college credit hours from an accredited institution.
  • Three years in a position related to the duties and level of responsibilities specified.
  • Additional experience may substitute for education on a one-for-one basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science.
  • Certification in one of the following: Microsoft/Apple/CompTIA/HDI/ITIL.
  • Installation, maintenance and support of Windows 10, Mac OS 10.13 and above.
  • Similar experience with customer/user interaction.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with personal computer hardware and software utilized by the department of assignment.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:
  • Office and computer lab environment.
  • May involve some lifting and moving of computer hardware and equipment.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
