Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Safety Director, the Safety Coordinator oversees branch safety programs and conducts/organizes ongoing employee safety training. This position reports to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Risk Manager.

Essential Functions:
-Ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and visitors.
-Support Safety and Operations leadership by assisting in the development, monitoring, and managing of safety programs, policies, and procedures for the branch
-Develop and distribute educational materials about safety and related programs
-Track facility regulatory compliance
-Conduct hazard assessments of facilities' procedures and equipment
-Coach and work with plant leadership to be a visible role model of incident prevention
-Communicate employee safety concerns to Risk Manager and provide feedback to employees.
-Conduct and document safety inspections, maintaining hazard register, and tracking corrective procedures
-Maintain safety records and submit legally mandated reports
-Implement new programs and procedures as directed
-Identify opportunities for additional training, education and/or workflow adjustments to ensure safe operations of the branch, collaborating with managers and Safety Director/Risk Manager as appropriate
-Assist with post-incident investigations
-Maintain file on safety meetings
-Provide guidance and support to meeting leaders
-Record events, accidents, and injuries into RiskMaster
-Monitor medical needs of injured employees and inform the Risk Manager
-Maintain and monitor the Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) program
-Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Demonstrated commitment to safety; with the ability to identify safety improvement opportunities
-Ability to influence others to perform their jobs safely and support a culture of safety
-Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints
-Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance regulations
-Excellent written and oral communication skills are critical; bi-lingual, English/Spanish, required
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software programs
-Must be a team player with enthusiasm and initiative

Education:
-High school graduate or equivalency preferred.

Typical Physical Activity:
-Physical demands consist of sitting and standing in the branch office and on the production floor. Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, kneeling, work in confined areas, talking, hearing, speaking, pulling, pushing, occasional lifting of boxes up to 15 lbs., filing, stooping, reaching, fine dexterity, reaching overhead.

Typical Environmental Conditions:
-This is an industrial laundry facility. Employee may be exposed to variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint and dust during the workday.

Travel Requirements:
-Ability to travel between locations within the branch
