Description
Position Description:
As the manager of instructional design, you would use your skills and experience to receive and analyze learning requests, organize and schedule projects, assign work to yourself and other designers, and monitor progress against deadlines. You would also design and create learning and performance-based training materials and assessments that emphasize adult learning concepts, active learning practices, and objectives-based instructional strategies. You would follow industry-standard development models (such as ADDIE) and make use of a variety of creative and innovative approaches to create effective learning. Prescription Solutions is looking for a self-motivated, productive individual to join our team of designers and trainers to manage the team and to create a wide variety of learning materials, ranging from soft skills to technical systems training.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of designers and their projects and workload
  • Monitor and manage priorities of active learning requests
  • Work with executive stakeholders to identify learning needs and perform task analysis as required
  • Evaluate the performance of the members of the design team
  • Work with the senior manager of instructional design to assure productivity, quality, and accuracy of all materials
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate existing content for development into training materials
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions
  • Design and develop learning materials in a variety of media and delivery methods, including both instructor-led and elearning
  • Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions
  • Perform other duties and work on other projects as required

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree is preferred
  • 3 years of experience in instructional design or teaching is required
  • 1 year of experience as an instructional design manager is required
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Desired proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Visio, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit
  • Experience with Knowlagent and Captivate a plus
  • Excellent writing and editing ability
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Skill in creating activity-rich, performance-based instructional materials
  • Skill in problem solving
  • Skill in organizing
  • Team and collaborative orientation
  • Work well with others and individually
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines
