Custodian Technician

CUSTODIAN TECHNICIAN
 
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for maintaining the property and grounds in a clean and orderly condition.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be able to work well independently and balance multiple priorities.  Multi-tasking is a must. 
• Thrive in the face of daily challenges and work well under pressure.  Accept new challenges and act decisively when needed. 
• Exude confidence in skills and knowledge and abilities. Show/demonstrate passion and commitment to the industry, company and for the job. 
• Clean all common areas i.e. hallways, laundry room, recreation room, rest rooms and lobby.
• Upkeep of all floors: includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and steam cleaning when needed.
• Dust and polish furniture including woodwork.
• Thoroughly clean trash rooms daily: assist in running the compactors and readying dumpsters for garbage pick-up.
• Daily removal of debris from the grounds to ensure safety and a good appearance of the grounds.
• Keep inventory of all supplies, advising supervisor of reordering status.
• Perform emergency maintenance as needed.
• Relate to and interact well with a variety of personalities.    Be able to build positive relationships with co-workers, vendors and residents.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in janitorial duties
• Ability to operate equipment necessary for upkeep of the property
• Ability to communicate well; ability to write in English preferred
• High School diploma or GED required

 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to use broom, vacuum cleaner, mop and other tools to maintain clean floors
• Ability to stoop and to complete tasks that are low to the floor
• Ability to use common household cleaners such as furniture polish, bathroom cleaners, disinfectants
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Able to traverse the property and units, possibly climbing stairs
